J. Edward Goldman, MA, MFT (Lic. #51273) is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Psychotherapist and the Founder of Power Therapy LA. He has served diverse and varied clients, from noteworthy celebrities to the homeless and disadvantaged. He is passionately committed as a psychotherapist to improving the lives of individuals as well as enhancing all facets of human relationships and families. J. Edward Goldman, MFT was inspired to create Power Therapy LA through his work as a therapist at treatment centers in Northern and Southern California. He was particularly drawn to his work with high-profile clients such as celebrities, actors, musicians, athletes, entertainers and business professionals who were struggling to find purpose, direction and power within their work as well as in their lives and relationships, all while ineffectively coping with underlying feelings of powerlessness.
Power Therapy® is a unique approach to psychotherapy that promotes life change within a variety of formats and time frames, including individual, couple and family sessions, as well as short-term/brief therapy and long-term/depth therapy. The therapy may last anywhere from only a few sessions, 8-10 sessions, to ongoing weekly or biweekly sessions for more significant life, relationship and family changes. The cost of sessions is variable and adapted to each client needs but is generally much more affordable than most psychotherapy in Los Angeles. Your particular needs, goals, and mental health challenges as a client will determine much of the therapy process. J. Edward Goldman, MFT has a number of specialties as a psychotherapist with an extensive mental health background, clinical training and expertise. He is particularly effective at assisting clients utilizing his original, integrative model of psychotherapy but adapts entirely to the needs and preferences of each and every one of his clients.
J. Edward Goldman is currently working on an Audiobook that will articulate the essence of his new theory/approach to psychotherapy and life change. The Audiobook/Podcast will be geared towards both the general public, in need of concrete self-help and assistance, as well as towards mental health professionals and clinicians, so that they may utilize the knowledge in assisting clients with the unique problems that they face in our modern age. Integrating knowledge from psychotherapy, psychology, philosophy, history and cultural anthropology, the book will also feature J. Edward Goldman’s intriguing thoughts, unique life experiences and stories as both a psychotherapist and human being that led him to discover his theory. Check back for the release of his Audiobook in 2016, one chapter at a time, as streaming audio files and eventually available for download/purchase in its entirety.
